Advertising disclosure:This site is funded by advertising. Links labelled “partner link” are commercial links: if you buy after following one, we are paid a commission, at no extra cost to you. It never changes what we write — see our editorial policy.

Editorial policy

This site is funded by advertising. That creates an obvious conflict of interest, and the only useful response is to say exactly how we handle it. This page is the standard we hold ourselves to, and the one you can hold us to.

1. Who writes here

Editorial responsibility for everything published on miravest.online rests with Richard Williams, director of publication and responsible editor for the publisher, Abdon Company s.r.o.. Every article carries a named byline and a publication date. Nothing is published anonymously, and nothing is published under an invented name.

Where a draft has been prepared with the help of research or drafting tools, the named editor reads every claim in it, checks it against the cited source, and takes responsibility for the published version. The byline is a statement of responsibility, not of keystrokes.

2. How we establish facts

  • Primary sources first. For a regulatory action we cite the regulator; for a corporate event, the company’s own filing or announcement; for a product’s features and price, the vendor’s own current page.
  • Testing we did not do, we do not claim. We do not run malware detection benchmarks. Where detection or performance is discussed we point readers to the independent laboratories that publish both methodology and results, and we name them.
  • Dates and figures are attributed. A number appears with the body that published it and the date it was published.
  • What we cannot verify, we hedge or omit. If the sources disagree — as they do, for instance, about the exact founding year of a company — we say so rather than picking the tidier answer.
  • The vendor prevails. On any point of product fact, the vendor’s own current information overrides ours, and we say so on the page.

3. How this site is funded

Two ways, and no others: paid advertising placements, and affiliate commission. When a reader follows a link labelled “partner link” and then makes a purchase, the advertiser or the affiliate network pays the publisher a commission. The reader pays the same price as they would have paid otherwise.

We do not sell anything ourselves, we do not take payment from readers, we run no subscription, and we do not sell, rent or share data about our readers — we do not collect any in the first place (see the privacy policy and the cookie policy).

4. What we will not do

These are commitments, not aspirations. If you find us breaking one, report it and we will correct it in public.

  • No invented testimonials. We do not publish “reader stories”, customer quotations, case studies or first-person experiences that did not happen. We do not frame editorial copy as a review submitted by a member of the public.
  • No invented ratings. No star scores, no “9.4/10”, no award badges, no “editor’s choice” seals that stand for nothing. If a score appears, it belongs to a named third party who published it.
  • No fabricated statistics or specifications. No made-up percentages, user counts, detection rates, prices or benchmark figures. Ever.
  • No artificial urgency. No countdown timers, no “only 3 left”, no “offer ends tonight” unless the advertiser has published that deadline itself, no fake stock levels and no fake visitor counters.
  • No guaranteed-result claims. No product guarantees your safety, your money back, or a particular outcome, and we will not write as though one does.
  • No disguised advertising. Commercial links are labelled where they appear, carry rel="sponsored nofollow", and are disclosed above the fold and again immediately under the headline.
  • No scare tactics. We do not simulate virus warnings, system alerts or security scans, and we do not imply that a reader’s device is infected.
  • No brand impersonation. We do not use a vendor’s logo, typeface or page design in a way that suggests the page is theirs, and we state our independence in the footer of every page.
  • No hidden material facts. If something substantial is known about an advertiser — a regulatory finding, for instance — it goes in the article, even though the article is the thing that earns us money.

5. Independence from advertisers

Advertisers buy placement. They do not buy conclusions.

  • No advertiser, affiliate network or agency sees an article before publication, and none has a right of review or approval over editorial text.
  • No advertiser can require the removal of unfavourable material, and no commercial agreement we enter into will contain such a term.
  • Commission rates play no part in what we recommend, in what order products are discussed, or in how they are described.
  • Advertising copy supplied by an advertiser is kept inside a block marked “Advertisement” and is never mixed into editorial paragraphs.
  • We will decline an advertiser whose product or landing page we consider deceptive.

6. Corrections procedure

We would rather be corrected than be wrong quietly.

  1. Tell us. Write to info@miravest.online with the page address and, if you can, the source that shows the error.
  2. We acknowledge. Within five working days.
  3. We check. Against a primary source wherever one exists.
  4. We fix it in public. A material error is corrected in the text and recorded in a visible corrections note on the same page, saying what was wrong and when it was changed. We do not edit a claim out silently and pretend it was never there. Typographical fixes are made without a note.
  5. If we disagree with you, we say so and explain why, and we publish your objection alongside if you ask us to.
  6. If we cannot stand a claim up, it comes out — even if it is the claim the advertiser cares about.

The current article on this site carries a published list of the claims we removed from its previous version. That is what this procedure looks like in practice.

7. Images and diagrams

Every illustration on this site is an original diagram drawn for it, served from this domain as an SVG file, with a title, a description, alternative text and a caption. We do not use stock photography, vendor marketing imagery or product screenshots.

8. Reader privacy as an editorial matter

We treat the decision not to track readers as part of the editorial standard rather than a technical detail. The site sets no cookies, loads no analytics, carries no advertising pixel and makes no third-party requests. That is also why there is no contact form: a form would collect data we have promised not to collect.

Effective from . This is the current version; we do not keep earlier versions online.
